Dan Kocher

Dan Kocher is Vice President of Service Excellence for Avantax Wealth Management. Prior to this role, he worked with several Blucora functions, including Operations, Client Experience, and Compliance. He also was heavily involved in the integration of HD Vest and 1st Global. His work has focused on enhancing Home Office effectiveness and quality while improving the efficiency of support provided to the community of Avantax Financial Professionals.

Prior to his roles with Avantax and Blucora, Dan spent 17 years as a management consultant primarily focused on planning and leading large strategic change initiatives for firms both internationally and domestically. He spent seven years working with financial services/broker dealers to better deliver middle and back office processes and services to Financial Professionals, assistants and end-clients. He has worked closely with C-level executives to create executable roadmaps that deliver measurable results by engaging employees, partners and external stakeholders. He advocates for implementing change using technology, broader process-focused transformations, and developing talent through targeted training and engagement initiatives.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Indiana University and a Master of Public Administration (Public Finance and Economic Development) from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University- Bloomington.
