Andrew Ireland

Andrew is a qualified social worker and had a 37-year career in local authority social work working for a number of Councils. His career spanned both children’s and adult services. Moving into management he became Director of Social service in three local authorities, Swindon Borough Council, The London Borough of Havering and Kent County Council, over a thirteen year period.

Having finished his local government career, Andrew set up his own social care consultancy focusing principally on improvement work. Andrew is in his fourth year as a Trustee of Avante and has been Chair of the Finance and Resources Committee.
