Desmond Hewitt has a long and varied career in the technology industry. Desmond began their career in 1994 as a Group Network IT Services Project Manager at Standard Bank Group. In 1999, they moved to IBM as a Regional Services & Sales Manager for the Middle East. From 2007 to 2010, they were a Group General Manager for Service Delivery & Operations Consulting at Quintica. From 2010 to 2013, they were a Regional Sales Director for SOA Solutions at Akana by Perforce. Desmond then moved to IDEMIA as a Director of Sales for Key & Global Payment Accounts from 2013 to 2016. Finally, from 2017 to the present, they have been a Business Director for EMEA at Avatar Partners, where they are responsible for AR/MR/XR Software Solutions building Metaverse solutions in Retail, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Construction, Logistics, Defense, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and EMS.

Desmond Hewitt has completed a Post Graduate Digital Strategies for Business from Columbia Business School in 2017, an IT V3 Foundation (UK) from EXIN in 2008-2009, an ITIL V2 Certified from APM Group (UK) in 2008, an Operations Management Diploma from COPE Certified - CUC SA in 2008, and a Digital Certificate from Columbia Business School in 2018. Additionally, Desmond has obtained certifications from EXIN your ICT competence partner in 2009, IELTS Official in 2018, and APMG-International.
