Kristen Henry

Kristen Henry has over 20 years of work experience in the IT industry. Kristen began their career as Consulting Manager at Whittman-Hart / marchFirst in 1996. In 2000, they became President of KH Computing Inc. and an IT Consultant at Samsonite Corporation. Kristen worked in Amazon AWS Architect, Amazon AWS Developer, Linux, iSeries (AS/400), Lansa, RPG, CLP, Lansa for the Web, Java, Struts, HTML, JavaScript and acted as an Integration Specialist. In 2001, they took on the role of iSeries Integration Manager - Consultant at Avatier and IT Consultant at Rocket Seagull Software, specializing in LegaSuite Integration (Transidiom) and Web Development using Java/J2EE and Struts. In 2002, they were contracted by the State of Colorado to review the existing Web Application Development products and Standards, teach the WebSphere Application Server maintenance and administration, and how to install and maintain Java Web Applications. Kristen also mentored in Java and Struts web-app framework using IBM WebSphere Application Developer v5.0. In 2003, they were contracted by the Kansas Insurance Department to teach Seagull Transidiom to connect to an IBM AS/400’s Legacy Business Application and develop a Web Application for the Public, Insurance Agents and Agencies to query basic State Insurance Agency Information. In 2011, they were contracted by the Maryland Insurance Administration to modify and install the Insurance Company Tax online payment system with integration to accounting and to Credit Card processing.

Kristen Henry attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1979 to 1983, where they earned a B.S. in Veterinary & Animal Science and Computer Science. Kristen is currently enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, studying Modern JavaScript, JSON and Ajax, HTML5 and CSS.
