Jeff Cowles

Jeff Cowles has extensive work experience in technical writing and communications. Jeff started as a Senior Technical Writer at Pixl Inc. in 2002, where they created documentation for various software applications. In 2007, they became the Communications Lead at Centuria, leading a team of writers on a software development project for the U.S. Forest Service. In 2012, they joined TechTrend, Inc. as a Communications Manager and Senior Technical Writer, managing project communications and creating various materials for a data center consolidation project. In 2015, they became an Independent Consultant, providing consulting services until 2023. Since 2017, they have been working as a Technical Lead and Senior Technical Writer at Avature, where they analyze and plans the development of user-focused help content for a large platform with over 75,000 active users.

Jeff Cowles attended James Madison University from 1986 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Literature, Technical Communications, Public Relations, and English Language and Literature/Letters.
