Sergio Sandoval, Ph. D., MBA, is a seasoned Principal Scientist currently engaged in Process Development at Nitto Avecia since May 2022. Prior to this, Sergio served as Principal Scientist and Senior Research Chemist at Purdue Pharma L.P. from September 2007 to December 2020, where responsibilities included developing synthetic routes for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), conducting process and hazard analysis, and scaling up safe chemical processes. Earlier experience includes roles as an English Second Language Teacher at The Anglo Mexican Foundation, a Compounder/Development Engineer at Gates Rubber Mexico, and a QC Chemist at NALCOMEX. Sergio holds a Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island, an MBA in High Technology Management from Northeastern University, and a BS in Physical Chemistry from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
