Genya Dana

Global Head of Health Policy at Avellino Labs

Dr. Genya Dana joins Avellino from the World Economic Forum, where she spent five years building partnerships to catalyse sustainable and innovative uptake of new technologies, financial models, delivery approaches and treatment options to affect health and well-being globally. Genya brings a unique blend of policy, diplomatic and technical skills to the role of Global Head of Health Policy, having advised international policymakers on the implications of emerging technologies across industries. She has two decades of experience working within healthcare systems and is a globally recognized expert on genomics and synthetic biology. She served as a U.S. negotiator on science, technology and innovation in multi-lateral organizations like the United Nations, worked to advance science, technology and innovation for sustainable development with a focus on Africa, and developed international partnerships to support scientific research on brain science and biological engineering. Genya received a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and Risk Assessment and a Master of Science in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Emory University.
