Gautamraj Baskaran

Gautamraj Baskaran is a Senior Consultant at AVENCORE. Gautamraj previously worked as a Product Development Engineer at Ford Motor Company from September 2015 to June 2016. There, they designed aerodynamic surfaces and executed reduction simulations using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and verified design using full-scale wind tunnel tests. Gautamraj also processed design changes through the Engineering Review Board (ERB). Additionally, they reduced development cost by $1.2 million per year by correlating OpenFOAM test results with established STAR-CCM+ and experimental wind tunnel results.

Before working at Ford Motor Company, Baskaran was an Aerodynamics - Formula SAE at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from September 2015 to March 2016. There, they managed a cross-functional product development team to balance technical product attributes, organize/monitor major product development stage gates and resolve technical engineering roadblocks.

Baskaran began their career as a Surveying Missions to Trans-Neptunian Objects (TNOs) at the University of Tennessee from May 2012 to May 2014.

Gautamraj Baskaran obtained their Master’s Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Gautamraj also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in the same field from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
