Charlene Flash, MD MPH has a diverse and extensive work experience in the medical field. Charlene is currently the President and CEO of Avenue 360 Health and Wellness since January 2020. Prior to this, they held the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine and Division of Infectious Disease at Baylor College of Medicine starting in 2012. From 2018 to 2019, Dr. Flash served as the Associate Chief Medical Officer at Legacy Community Health. During their time there, they oversaw the services provided by a large number of clinicians across multiple clinics and school-based health sites. Charlene'sresponsibilities included quality improvement, disease management, care coordination, and health education, among others.
Before that, they worked as the Assistant Medical Director of HIV Prevention Services at Harris Health System from 2017 to 2018. In this role, they developed clinical protocols and quality metrics for HIV prevention and ensured quality outcomes.
From 2013 to 2018, Dr. Flash was the Medical Director of the HIV Prevention Program at Thomas Street Health Center. Charlene developed and implemented comprehensive HIV prevention programs for high-risk populations, and their expertise was widely recognized and sought after nationally for training and implementation efforts.
Dr. Flash completed their Infectious Disease Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School from 2010 to 2012. Charlene also has experience as a Medicine-Pediatrics Resident at Brown University from 2006 to 2010.

Charlene earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from Yale University, completing this program during the years 1994 to 1998. Following this, Charlene pursued a medical education and obtained their MD degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, spanning from 2001 to 2006. During their medical studies, they concurrently pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, specializing in Quantitative Health Care Assessment. This postgraduate degree was completed between 2003 and 2006. Charlene's educational history demonstrates their dedication to both scientific understanding and public health research.
