Don Aungst

Don Aungst is a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience in higher education administration. Currently serving as VP and CFO/COO at Averett University since March 2020, Aungst transitioned to retirement in April 2023 while continuing to offer consulting services through NACUBO and Higher Ed Consolidation Solutions. Notable previous roles include Special Advisor to the President at Mercy College and Executive VP and Chief Financial and Planning Officer at Upper Iowa University. Aungst's career began at Susquehanna University, where a progression from Controller to VP for Finance and Treasurer occurred over 18 years. Aungst holds a BS in Accounting from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
