John Sliger, CSEP has extensive experience in the aerospace industry. John currently serves as the Director of AVIAN Digital Engineering Center of Excellence (DECoE) at AVIAN since January 2022. Before joining AVIAN, they worked at Synergy Aerospace, Inc. where they held various roles including PMA-276 Future Vertical Lift (FVL) - Attack and Utility Replacement Aircraft (AURA) Systems Engineer and RQ-21A Blackjack Principal Avionics Engineer. Prior to that, they worked at Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) where they served as the RQ-21 Mission Systems Lead Engineer and F/A-18 Distributed Targeting System (DTS) Systems Engineer. John started their career as an Avionics Intern at Honeywell Aerospace in 2006.

John Sliger, CSEP, holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, which they obtained from 2004 to 2008. John further pursued their education at The Johns Hopkins University, where they completed a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) degree in Systems Engineering from 2010 to 2013.

In addition to their degrees, John Sliger has obtained various certifications throughout their career. John received the Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification from INCOSE in December 2021. Furthermore, they hold the OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional: Model Builder - Fundamental (OCSMP) and OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional: Model User (OCSMP) certifications from OMG, which they obtained in May 2022. John also achieved the Systems Engineering Level 3 certification from the Defense Acquisition University in 2012.

John Sliger obtained their Engineer In Training certification from NCEES in October 2008. John also holds a security clearance, which they obtained in January 2009.
