Mario Orbegozo

Mario Orbegozo, P.Eng., has extensive experience in the field of engineering, particularly in the telecommunications and RF communications sectors. Mario has held various roles throughout their career, starting as a Maintenance Engineer at RCN, where they were responsible for the maintenance and installation of radio broadcasting equipment. Mario then worked as a Technical Manager and Chief Engineer at Cadena Sutatenza de Colombia, overseeing the technical operations of a powerful radio broadcasting network.

Moving on to RCN once again, they served as the Chief Engineer of the FM Network, responsible for technical operations and the design and implementation of a studio-transmission link network. Mario later worked at Intercor-Exxon as a Senior Telecommunication Specialist, managing the operations and maintenance of a satellite network and gaining experience in the deployment of a digital satellite communications system.

Mario then joined Look Communications as a Microwave Engineer, where they played a key role in the deployment and commissioning of a digital microwave television network. Mario's next position was at Sinclair Technologies as a System Design Engineer, where they designed system applications for RF communications and gained expertise in antenna and filter design.

Mario then worked as a Senior RF System Designer at WaveRider Communications, where they were involved in the system design of broadband wireless networks. Mario's career then led him to Redline Communications, where they served as the Director of RF Technology and then as the Director of Professional Services. In these roles, they were responsible for the RF planning and design of multi-million dollar projects for the oil and gas industry using RF planning software tools.

Currently, Mario is working as the Director of RF Planning & Design at Aviat Networks, where they continue to showcase their expertise in RF planning and design. Throughout their career, Mario has demonstrated a strong understanding of RF communications theory, software design tools, and has extensive experience in the design and implementation of wireless communications networks.

Mario Orbegozo, P.Eng., Consulting Engineer, completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Mario graduated from this program in 1979 after studying for five years.
