Our Camp Operations Staff are the magic behind the scenes ensuring a safe and positive experience for all campers and fellow staff members. Our Kitchen team ensures that our campers and staff have the fuel they need both at camp and out in the field to stay energized and are a key part of the community culture.

We are hiring Kitchen Assistants and Kitchen Supervisors for our two Colorado Overnight Camp locations: 

  • Camp Blue Sky (Grades 1-5), Evergreen, CO

  • Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6-12), Bailey, CO

In this role you will

  • Work to keep the kitchen in compliance with state regulations regarding cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Manage all dietary restrictions so that all campers and staff have plenty to eat with a variety of meals.
  • Prepare and serve delicious, nutritious meals for all campers and staff.
  • Work with the kitchen team to provide for different programs, including expeditions, continental breakfasts, and cookie raids.
  • Engagement with the campers and staff to be part of the camp experience.
  • Manage and lead dining services team for team cohesion, commitment, and enjoyment within positions.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age by the start of camp training.
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen is highly preferred for Kitchen Supervisors.
  • ServSafe certification required, Avid4 Adventure covers the cost of this certification.

Important Details

  • Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation, with the expectation that you live on-site. Leadership will work with you to ensure structured time-off is available
  • Position Duration: Training is asap. Camps run from June 9 through August 3.
  • Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure. Weekly pay rates start at $370.70 for Kitchen Assistants and $473.70 for Kitchen Supervisors (room and board is provided the whole summer!) Read more about our compensation structure here.
  • Travel: Candidates are responsible for arranging their own transportation to Colorado as Avid4 Adventure does not offer a travel stipend.
