Georgios Karamanlidis, PhD, EMBA

Georgios Karamanlidis, PhD, EMBA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Georgios is currently serving as the Director of Biology at Avidity Biosciences, Inc. Georgios previously worked at Amgen as a Senior Manager- Amgen Ventures, Senior Scientist in Cardiometabolic Disease, and Senior Scientist in Diversity and Inclusion in Clinical Trials. Prior to that, they held positions at Pfizer as a Senior Principal Scientist and Principal Scientist in Cardiometabolic Disease, where they led target identification and validation efforts and developed innovative screening assays and mouse models of heart failure. Georgios also has research experience, including roles as an Acting Instructor and Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington, where they focused on investigating mitochondrial dysfunction and biogenesis in heart failure. Georgios also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University, studying mitochondrial dysfunction in heart failure in mice and collaborating on research related to congenital heart disease.

Georgios Karamanlidis, PhD, EMBA completed their Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree at Quantic School of Business and Technology from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biology with a specialization in Obesity at the University of Aberdeen from 2001 to 2005.
