Michael Salmon has over 15 years of work experience in the aviation industry. Michael began their career in 2006 as a Quality Control Inspector and Squad Leader/AH-64D Repairer for the US Army. In 2017, they transitioned to Air Evac Lifeteam as an Aviation Maintenance Technician. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Avidyne as a Technical Marketing Specialist and Product/Pilot Support Representative. In their roles, they have coordinated all aspects of Avidyne's tradeshow and dealer events, provided tailored product demonstrations, hosted dealer and customer webinars, offered installation and troubleshooting assistance, processed repair maintenance authorizations, and assisted current Avidyne pilot customers. Michael has also inspected and maintained Bell 206L1, L3, L4, and 407 helicopters, implemented quality assurance for 24 AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopters, and supervised the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of 8 AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopters.

Michael Salmon obtained a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance with a focus in Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University between 2018 and 2020. Michael also holds certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration, FEMA, US Army, and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These include a Private Pilot (ASEL) certification obtained in August 2020, a National Incident Management System certification obtained in September 2018, an Airframe and Powerplant certification obtained in October 2017, a Master Resilience Trainer certification obtained in October 2015, an Aviation Life Support Equipment Technician certification obtained in August 2008, and a CFC/HCFC Refrigerant Processing certification obtained in February 2007.
