Samuel Nicaise

Sam Nicaise is a highly experienced research engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering, holding a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Currently engaged as a Research Engineer at both Digital Biotechnologies and Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. since January 2023, Sam also serves as a Scientific Advisor at Avisi Technologies, focusing on nanoscale plate materials for glaucoma treatment. Past roles include Materials Engineer at Modern Electron, where contributions included the development of thermionic converter prototypes, and Senior Technical Development Engineer at nLIGHT, specializing in nanophotonics technology. Additional experience encompasses a postdoctoral researcher position at the University of Pennsylvania, graduate research assistant at MIT, and various internships and research roles in esteemed laboratories, enhancing a diverse skill set in experimental design, nanofabrication, and embedded software development.
