Michael Hoefler

Michael Hoefler is a product engineer at Avo Photonics since September 2022 and has held the position of service engineer at the Gemological Institute of America since July 2014, where responsibilities include supervising diamond grading instrument service across various global locations and leading installation and training efforts for new instruments. Prior experience includes mechanical engineering roles at Strato, Inc., where Michael served as lead engineer for railroad air brake product lines, and at Dorman Products, focusing on inspection and approval of part lines with significant value. Michael also gained early experience as a mechanical engineering intern at Kulicke & Soffa, contributing to performance data collection and tolerance analysis. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, completed in 2007.
