Chris Parker has a diverse work experience in the digital media industry. Chris is the Founder and CEO of Awaken, a full-service independent media agency based in Sydney. Chris co-founded and served as the CEO of Sparku, a video sharing app, where they won a place to present at RISE in Hong Kong before eventually selling the company. Chris has also held various judging roles in prestigious industry awards, including the ADMA Creative & Effective Awards and the AMY Awards. In addition to their entrepreneurial ventures, Chris has worked in marketing, communications, public relations, and social media management roles for companies such as Toyota Motor Corporation Australia, Razorfish, and Global RED. Chris also has experience in business development at Menulog/Artog/MyRate Pty Ltd.
Chris Parker completed a Bachelor of Law with a focus on Intellectual Property & Media Law at the University of New England from 2005 to 2009. In 2008, they obtained a certificate in Direct & Digital Marketing from the Australian Direct Marketing Association. They also completed a Mortgage Broker Accreditation from Loan Services Australia in 2006. In 2010, Chris attended The Australian National University, where they obtained a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in Law. They further pursued mediation and obtained a Practitioner's Certificate in Mediation from the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators in 2011. In the same year, they were granted Admission as a Solicitor by the NSW Supreme Court. Additionally, Chris obtained a Legal Practising Certificate from The Law Society of NSW in April 2022.
