Daniel Shapiro

Daniel Shapiro has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Daniel currently holds the role of Senior Vice President, Legal at Ascend Wellness Holdings, responsible for overseeing legal matters. Prior to that, they served as Vice President, Corporate Counsel at the same company. Daniel has also worked as a Strategic Advisor at Veda Farms and as an Associate General Counsel and Corporate Counsel at Greenlane Holdings, Inc. Daniel gained experience in sports business and legal affairs as a member of the Creative Artists Agency. Additionally, Daniel has been involved in the cannabis and entertainment industries, serving as the Inaugural Chair of the Cannabis and the Entertainment and Sports Industries Division at the American Bar Association. Daniel has also worked as Counsel at 777 Partners and as a Summer Associate at Mound Cotton Wollan & Greengrass LLP. Early in their career, Daniel interned as a Legal Intern at Roc Nation Sports. Currently, they are also a Member at TechGC.

Daniel Shapiro attended the Horace Mann School from 2004 to 2010, where they received their high school diploma. Daniel then pursued their higher education at The George Washington University from 2010 to 2014, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Criminal Justice, and English with cum laude honors. From 2014 to 2017, they attended the Cardozo School of Law and obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. In 2018, they were admitted to practice law in New York by the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, First Department. In 2019, Daniel Shapiro obtained additional certification as an Authorized House Counsel in Florida by The Florida Bar.
