Smitty du Toit is highly experienced in the field of nuclear and accelerator instrumentation. As part of his mandate he managed the Green Lab at iThemba Labs with subsequent experience in Solar energy equipment and system design. He completed the BSc, BEng degree from University of Stellenbosch in 1972, registered as professional engineer in 1975 and obtained Honours and MSc degrees in Engineering from University of Pretoria in 1975 and 1977 respectively.
