Timo Aro

Timo Aro has extensive experience in the healthcare and insurance sectors, serving as a Board Member at Megical Ltd. since December 2024 and as the Founder and Chairman of the Board at Montiaro Ltd. since January 2010. Aro has held the position of Chief Medical Advisor at AXA Partners since January 2008 and previously served as a Megical Advisor at the National Pension Institution until December 2024. Additional roles include Senior Advisor, Chief Customer Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Medical Officer at Ilmarinen from October 1994 to November 2022, as well as Chief Medical Officer at the National Authority for Medicolegal Affairs from April 1992 to November 1994. Aro began a career in academia at Helsinki University in the Department of Public Health, where responsibilities included Research Assistant and Professor in Biostatistics from January 1989 to February 1992. Aro holds multiple degrees from the University of Helsinki and Harvard University, including a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and a specialist in insurance and occupational medicine, complemented by an Executive Program at Harvard Business School in 2013.
