Thomas Hanlon

Thomas Hanlon has over 35 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Thomas is currently the VP and Head of CMC at Axcella Health since January 2020. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Director of Drug Product Manufacturing & Supply Chain at Synta Pharmaceuticals from 2007 to 2016. Thomas also held the position of VP of Manufacturing & Materials Management at Acusphere, Inc. from 1996 to 2006. Thomas started their career at Sandoz Pharmaceutical Corporation (now Novartis) as the Manager of Parenterals from 1987 to 1996. Thomas began their professional journey as the Supervisor of Solid Dosage Forms at Ayerst Laboratories, Inc. (now Wyeth) in 1985.

Thomas Hanlon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Villanova University, where they attended from 1980 to 1984. Thomas then pursued further education at Seton Hall University, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree specializing in Finance/International Business. Thomas completed their MBA studies at Seton Hall University from 1993 to 1996.
