Chris Oalmann

Senior Director, Chemistry at Axial Therapeutics

Chris Oalmann has worked in the medicinal chemistry field for over 20 years. Chris began their career in 1996 as a Scientist at ProScript. In 1998, they moved to GPC Biotech (formerly Mitotix) as a Senior Scientist II, Medicinal Chemistry, where they worked on drug discovery projects centered on the optimization of small molecule inhibitors of protein kinases, Raf, Bcr/Abl, and CDK's with direct supervision of one Ph.D. and one B.S. In 2007, they joined SIRTRIS a gsk company as a Research Fellow/Senior Principle Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry, where they were the chemistry leader on the SIRT1 activator project, guiding the research direction of the chemistry team and interfacing with enzymology, cell biology, ADME/PK, and pharmacology groups. Chris was also a member of the SIRTRIS Chemistry Management Team. In 2014, Chris moved to Ensemble Therapeutics Corporation as a Research Fellow-Medicinal Chemistry. In 2017, they became the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Flatley Discovery Labs. Chris is currently the Senior Director, Chemistry at Axial Therapeutics, Inc.

Chris Oalmann completed a B.S. in Chemistry from Louisiana State University, followed by a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin, and then a Post Doctoral in Chemistry from North Carolina State University.
