Solution Engineer at Axim Geospatial

Alec Boyd has worked in the geospatial industry since 2008. From 2008-2015, they worked as an Electronics employee at Meijer. From 2015-2018, they were a Consultant, Federal Biological Science Technician, and Independent Contractor at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). During this time, they scripted and developed a raster pixel extraction method using r and python, operated Gasmet gas sampling devices, performed Trimble surveys, and measured gas flux from the Prairie Pothole Region/Agricultural sites. In 2018, they joined GISinc (now Axim Geospatial) as a Solution Engineer and Geospatial Analyst, where they implemented and used ArcGIS and the extended Esri desktop software/web ecosystem, used Python, FME, SQL, r, batch, and ArcObject scripting, and maintained EGDB and FGDB using database best practices. Alec is currently employed by Axim Geospatial as a Solution Engineer.

Alec Boyd has a Certificate of GIS from Michigan State University, which they obtained in 2018. Alec also has two additional certifications: Intro to FME Desktop from Safe Software, which they obtained in April 2020, and Geographic Information Systems from Michigan State University, which they obtained in June 2018. Their formal education includes a B.S. in Environmental Science, which they obtained from Calvin University between 2009 and 2015.
