Trademark Paralegal

Job description

We are currently seeking trademark paralegals to join our network. This position is remote, however you must be located in Ontario or Alberta, Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with lawyers to manage trademark portfolios, including monitoring deadlines for filings, renewals, and maintenance requirements
  • Assist in the preparation, filing, and prosecution of trademark applications and provide general administrative support to our clients' legal teams in this area
  • Draft correspondence, responses to office actions, and other legal documents related to trademark matters

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • 10+ years of relevant experience working as a trademark paralegal or law clerk in a large firm or in-house environment 
  • Ability and interest in working on an engagement basis, seconded to clients for 4-6 months on average at a time
  • Ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trademark law and procedures in Canada, with the ability to assist lawyers in all aspects of trademark matters
  • Sense of urgency combined with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work both independently and cross-functionally  
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
