Djeinabou Balde

Djeinabou Balde is a skilled engineer with a background in chemical engineering and extensive experience across various sectors. Currently serving as an ECLSS Water Engineer at Axiom Space since April 2022, Djeinabou contributes to cutting-edge human spaceflight and on-orbit research initiatives. Previously, as a Downstream Process Engineer at Ginkgo Bioworks, Djeinabou designed and executed experiments for commercially viable biological processes. Experience at Schlumberger includes roles as a Manufacturing Process Engineer, where Djeinabou implemented process improvements leading to significant production increases, and as a co-op and intern focused on innovative manufacturing techniques. Academic achievements include leading a team on a senior design project for a Vinyl Acetate Monomer Plant at the University of Houston, where Djeinabou earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering in 2019. Additional experience includes roles as an Engineering Advisor and a Future Leader Summer Intern, demonstrating a commitment to education and student development.
