Connie Marean

Connie Marean has a diverse work experience in various legal and leadership roles. Connie is currently the Vice President of People at Axios HQ, where they utilize AI-powered software to manage communications effectively. Prior to this, they served as the Head of People, VP, and Employment Counsel at Metaplex Studios, the largest NFT ecosystem globally.

From 2014 to 2022, Connie Marean worked at The Windquest Group, where they held the positions of Chief Talent Officer, Chief People Officer, and Legal Counsel. In this role, they provided legal counsel and oversaw talent development operations for a private equity and investment management firm. Connie also acted as a member of the Merger and Acquisition Team, pinpointing employment law issues and offering legal counsel to portfolio executives.

Before joining The Windquest Group, Connie Marean worked at Amway from 2010 to 2014, serving as Corporate Counsel. In this role, they supported domestic business units in navigating compliance issues and guiding international business units in resolving employment issues. Connie also conducted investigations and advised on discrimination and harassment matters.

Prior to their time at Amway, Connie Marean worked as an Attorney at Miller Johnson from 2004 to 2010. Connie assisted employers with compliance issues related to various employment laws and defended employers in litigation cases. Connie also investigated allegations of discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

Connie Marean began their career as an Intern for Magistrate Judge Joseph Scoville at the U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan in 2004. Prior to that, they worked as a Paralegal at Drew, Cooper, and Anding from 1999 to 2003.

Connie Marean has a Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies from Grand Valley State University, which they obtained in 1998. Connie then pursued further education at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, where they earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law, graduating Cum Laude in 2004.
