Melanie Colton is the SVP, Product and Technology at Axios. Prior to their current role, Melanie served as the Vice President, Talent Products at Andela from January 2019 to April 2020. Prior to their role at Andela, Melanie was the Senior Director, Product and Engineering at Equinox from June 2017 to November 2018. In their role at Equinox, Melanie oversaw product and engineering across the company's Consumer Technology division.

From December 2013 to May 2017, Melanie served as the Vice President, Product & Technology at Hearst. In this role, Melanie was responsible for building the department and team, overseeing all aspects of product development and management, application development, development operations & infrastructure, and automated & functional testing. Under Melanie's leadership, the team successfully built a performant, scalable, platform and distribution system for award-winning brands such as Cosmopolitan.com, Elle.com, Esquire.com, and Delish.com.

Prior to their role at Hearst, Melanie worked in the Office of the CTO, where they developed strategic cross-business unit initiatives, developed a model for managing technical maturity across Hearst, and architected a best-in-class Video Production Platform.

Melanie Colton has a Masters of Science from Columbia University in the City of New York in Technology Management and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Maryland in English Literature.
