Senior Product Engineer | Founding Engineer at Axle

Almas Myrzatay has a diverse work experience spanning from 2015 to 2023. They started their career as an Auditing Intern at KPMG in Kazakhstan and Central Asia in 2015, followed by an ITA Intern role at the same company in 2016. In 2015, Almas also worked at Emory University as a Resident Advisor and Sophomore Advisor, as well as a SIRE Undergraduate Research Assistant & Peer Mentor until 2017.

From 2018 to 2020, Almas worked at MHP – A Porsche Company as a Consultant & Software Developer. They were responsible for various tasks including developing RESTful APIs, building data processing dashboards, creating predictive pricing tools, managing project proposals, and founding a company-wide initiative called MHPReads.

In 2021, Almas joined Microsoft as a Software Engineer and worked until 2023. They then moved on to Axle (YC S22) as a Senior Product Engineer in 2023, where their current role is ongoing.

From 2010 to 2014, Almas attended Putnam Science Academy, where they participated in the Adult High School/Secondary Diploma Program.

In 2013, Almas also completed a Summer School Program on Principles of Economics at Harvard Extension School.

From 2014 to 2018, Almas pursued their Bachelor's degree in Economics/Mathematics joint major and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Emory University.

Following their undergraduate studies, Almas went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2020 to 2022.

In addition to their academic degrees, Almas also obtained several certifications. These include the Responsible Conduct of Research certification from the CITI Program in January 2021, the Celonis Data Engineer certification from Celonis in May 2020, the Professional Scrum Master I certification from Scrum.org in January 2020, and the Behavioral Research Investigators and Key Personnel certification from the CITI Program in May 2020.
