Audit Associate

Are you naturally curious and analytical? Do you enjoy working as part of a team? As an Audit Associate at Axley & Rode, you will help businesses optimize operations and ensure that their policies and procedures comply with current regulations.

The Opportunity:

The Audit Associate will be responsible for applying their technical skills as part of a team to complete financial and compliance audits of clients' programs to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, federal and state regulations and applicable policies and procedures.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete work papers.
  • Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and disclosures.
  • Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Learn how to work as part of a team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the firm and our clients.
  • Take on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.
  • Work face-to-face with clients to conduct interviews and process walkthroughs supporting the audit

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or another related field
  • Qualification and intent to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation
  • Knowledge and understanding of a professional working environment
  • Excellent critical thinking and analysis skills and ability to identify and solve problems
  • Have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • One or more years of experience in accounting related field preferred
