Charlie Mathews

Charlie Mathews has a diverse work experience in the field of science. Charlie began their career in 2018 as a iGEM Research Scientist (Cell Biology) at The University of Edinburgh. In 2020, they completed their BSc Honours thesis research at the MRC Centre for Inflammation Research, University of Edinburgh. Later that year, they joined the UK Lighthouse Lab Network as a Workstation Manager and Laboratory Scientist. In 2021, they moved to Cignpost Diagnostics as a Laboratory Scientist and then to Axol Bioscience Ltd. as a Manufacturing Scientist.

Charlie Mathews attended Kelvinside Academy from 2014 to 2016, where they obtained SQA Highers in Maths (A), Biology (A), Chemistry (A), English (B), RMPS (A) and Music (A). Charlie then went on to The University of Edinburgh, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences, with a focus on Development, Regeneration and Stem Cells, from 2016 to 2020.
