Sapna Vyas has worked in the biotechnology industry since 2007. Sapna began their career as a Research Assistant at Central Institute of Fisheries Education in 2007. In 2008, they joined Actis Biologics Pvt Ltd. as a Junior Scientist, where they developed novel recombineering technologies for enhanced therapeutic heterologous protein expression in E. coli, yeast and mammalian cells. In 2010, they moved to Wellcome Sanger Institute, where they worked as a Lab Manager in the Vallier Lab and as an Advanced Research Assistant in the Mouse Genome Project. From 2017 to 2020, they were employed at Horizon Discovery, where they held various roles, including Senior Scientist - Team Leader, Senior Scientist - Cell Line Engineering, and Scientist II - Cell Line Engineering. In this role, they led the Custom Cell Line engineering team, performed functional assays on genome edited cells, and led the hiPSC/ESC and T-cell editing platform and process improvement. In 2020, they joined Censo Biotechnologies as a Principal Scientist / Group Leader, where they led and supported a small team working on generating iPSC/ESC derived disease models through differentiation, reprogramming and gene editing/modulation. Sapna is currently employed at Axol Bioscience Ltd. as a Project Manager.
Sapna Vyas obtained their Masters in Pharmacology and Biotechnology from Sheffield Hallam University in 2006. Sapna also holds a Bachelors in Life-Sciences, Biotechnolgy and Biochemistry from the University of Mumbai which they completed in 2004. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including a CMI Level 7 Senior Leadership Programme from In Professional Development (INPD) in 2022, PRINCE2 Agile\u00ae Foundation from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2021, Scrum Foundation Professional Certificate from CertiProf in 2021, Project Management and Leadership from Cambridge Network in 2019, and PRINCE2 Agile\u00ae Practitioner from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2021.
