About This Role 

Axsome Therapeutics is seeking an Associate Director, Professional Education with a strong focus on the CNS field. This position will play a pivotal role in developing exceptional educational content across the entire education continuum. The Associate Director, Professional Education will use their robust clinical and customer knowledge to foster collaboration with key stakeholders such as Medical Affairs, Marketing, Professional Education, Commercial leaders, and External Partners.  

This role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles.  

Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Collaborative Content Development 

  • Work closely with promotional review committee, marketing team, medical affairs, and external partners to create training materials that ensure the safe and effective use of Axsome's products 
  • Lead the development and facilitation of key initiatives aligned with medical education of opinion leaders including speaker training, speaker programs, advisory boards, speaker presentations, and program activity reports 

Performance Metrics 

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of metrics for tracking the effectiveness and impact of educational programs 
  • Faculty Development 
  • Lead the development of faculty and coordinate curriculum development working groups 

Innovative Technologies 

  • Cultivate strong partnerships with internal and external collaborators to assess and leverage innovative training technologies and models that align with the Professional Education strategy 

Continuous Improvement 

  • Utilize customer feedback and the ongoing voice of the customer to refine educational content through a process of continuous improvement 

Integration 

  • Maximize integration with existing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and event management systems 
  • Professional Education Strategy 
  • Take the lead on key Professional Education strategy initiatives 

Requirements / Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred 
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Healthcare Commercial roles (e.g., Sales, Sales Training, Prof Ed, Marketing, or Sales Management), or equivalent 
  • Prior experience in Medical Education (internal or external stakeholder training) 
  • May require up to 50% domestic travel 
  • Ability to work on site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles. 

Experience and Knowledge 

  • Project management expertise

  • Proven ability to develop and manage both internal and external networks 
  • Exceptional skills in communication, analytics, conflict management, complex project management, people management, and development 
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to align educational solutions (Professional, Commercial, and Marketing Education) with business strategy to support company goals 

Salary & Benefits 

The anticipated salary range for this role is $140,000 - $170,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location. Axsome offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus, significant equity and a generous benefits package.
