Candace Andersson PhD

Candace Andersson PhD currently serves as the Executive Medical Director at Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. since May 2023. Previously, Candace held the position of Executive Medical Science Liaison at ACADIA Pharmaceuticals from July 2021 to May 2023, following a tenure as Senior MSL at the same company where responsibilities included the management of pimavanserin. Prior to that, Candace was the Director of MSLs for Epilepsy at Upsher-Smith Laboratories and spent a decade at Bristol-Myers Squibb in various roles, including Executive Medical Science Liaison and Associate Director for Medical Affairs in Thailand/Singapore. Candace’s early career included academic positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Research Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow. Education includes a PhD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
