Darren Opland

Darren Opland is an experienced professional in corporate communications and neuroscience research. Currently serving as the Director of Corporate Communications at Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. since December 2022, Darren previously held various roles at LifeSci Communications from December 2017 to December 2022, including Associate Director and Account Supervisor. Earlier experience includes a position as an Associate Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University, where significant contributions were made to understanding the neurobiology of reward and aversion, particularly in relation to eating disorders. Darren's academic background includes a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan and a BA in Neurobiology and Behavior from Cornell University.
