A principal and vice president, Glenn Birx joined Ayers Saint Gross in 1972 and has watched the firm grow from 12 people to 200. Always up for a new challenge, he has worked in many positions over the years – as a draftsman with paper and pencil, the head of staffing and human resources, a principal on design projects, and a project manager. Glenn has been involved in the design of technically complex building types for the Greater Baltimore Committee and Maryland Stadium Authority and, in his current role, he leads the technical and management side of the firm, overseeing contracts, quality control, construction documents, and administration.
Glenn works hard to share his knowledge and experience with the next generation of architects through his work as past president and board member of the Maryland and Baltimore AIA chapters and as a nationally recognized expert in the use of BIM and Integrated Project Delivery. He has taken great enjoyment in watching the rapid evolution of new technology over the past several decades and he is passionate about studying current trends and predictions for what the future of practice will look like.
