Josh Olhava

Urban Planner at Ayres Associates

With a strong background in community and strategic planning, I know my way around land use planning policies, procedures, and regulations, including their impact on the built environment. I've worked in the public sector as a community planner on policy and plan implementation, code amendments, development review, and organizational process improvements. I've also served on teams developing comprehensive plans and updates, regional plans, and corridor studies for communities in Colorado and Ohio.

I'm a certified planner and certified change practitioner, and communities like how I guide creative and innovative planning initiatives and land use solutions. As a natural problem solver, I love bringing together community members and stakeholders to develop a framework to achieve common goals.

As an urban planner I'm responsible for devising local and regional land-use programs and plans; grants and strategies relating to new development and redevelopment initiatives; public outreach; meeting facilitation; and policies affecting land use, zoning, public infrastructure, and transportation. I evaluate potential impacts of construction plans; administer grants and loans; and prepare reports, applications, and special needs assessments.
