Michael Schwarz

Michael Schwarz is a seasoned economist currently serving as Chief Economist and Corporate Vice President at Microsoft since December 2017 and as a Board Member at AYTM since September 2019. Previously, Schwarz held multiple roles at Google from September 2012 to December 2017, including Chief Economist for Google Cloud and Waze Chief Scientist. Earlier experience includes Principal Research Scientist and Head of the Economics Unit at Yahoo! Research from 2006 to August 2012, as well as a Researcher at UC Berkeley from 2004 to 2006. Schwarz began an academic career as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Harvard University from June 1999 to August 2004. Schwarz earned a PhD from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
