Danny Zepeda

Danny Zepeda has extensive experience in research and development, primarily in the pharmaceutical industry. Danny currently holds the position of Director of Research and Development at Aytu BioPharma, starting in March 2021.

Before joining Aytu BioPharma, Danny worked at Neos Therapeutics, Inc. starting in May 2010. Danny held several roles during their tenure, including Director of Research and Development from March 2019 to March 2021. In this role, they managed the formulation and process development of FDA-approved products, as well as the analytical activities, filing processes, and commercialization efforts. Danny also served as a subject matter expert in areas such as scale up, tech transfer, process validation, and product life cycle management. Prior to becoming the Director, they also served as an R&D Manager, Research and Development Supervisor, and Research and Development Scientist at Neos Therapeutics, Inc.

Before their time at Neos Therapeutics, Danny worked as an Analytical Research Associate at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center from June 2009 to February 2010. Danny also gained research experience as a Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Dallas from 2006 to 2009, where they focused on small organic molecule and polymer synthesis, characterization techniques, and the development of polymeric devices and fibers for photovoltaic applications.

Danny Zepeda obtained a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry and Materials Science from The University of Texas at Dallas from 2006 to 2009. Danny also received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from the same university. In 2012, they obtained a certification in Empower SQT for Waters Alliance® HPLC Systems from Waters.
