Carmen Ruiz-Mateos

Carmen Ruiz-Mateos has a diverse work experience that spans various sectors and roles. In their most recent position as Impact Investing Director at Fundación Ayuda en Acción, they are responsible for overseeing impact investing initiatives. Prior to that, they served as the CEO of Smateria UK, where they successfully established and consolidated the fashion accessories brand in the UK. Carmen also worked as a Development Manager at Rainforest Alliance, where they focused on generating funding resources from institutional donors in Europe. Carmen has experience in social enterprise development and investment analysis through their roles at ACRA, where they worked as an Investment Analyst and Social Business Development Officer. Additionally, Carmen has worked in project management and technical support for environmental initiatives at Corporación Autónoma Regional de Santander CAS. Carmen has also worked as an International Sales Agent for SED Société Emeraude Diffusion and as a Fundraiser for Donadium for UNICEF France. Carmen Ruiz-Mateos has demonstrated a strong commitment to ethical and sustainable practices throughout their career.

Carmen Ruiz-Mateos completed their education with a Master's degree in Social Entrepreneurship and Non-Profit Organizations Management from SDA Bocconi in 2010. Prior to that, they participated in the Erasmus Programme during their fifth year of MSc in Environmental Science at Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca from 2007 to 2008. Carmen obtained their MSc in Environmental Science through a double degree program at Universidad CEU San Pablo from 2003 to 2008. Additionally, Carmen completed another double degree program, MSc in Environmental Sciences, at Suffolk University from 2005 to 2006.
