Veronica Alves Cardoso

Veronica Alves Cardoso is an experienced orthoptist currently working at Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc since October 2016 and AZ Jan Palfijn Gent since December 2022. Additionally, Veronica serves as a bestuurslid at N-VA Gent and a member of Sommeliers-Conseil VZW. Since September 2018, collaboration with the Institute of Neuroscience IONS at UCL Louvain has involved research in the field of ophthalmology. Veronica contributes to academia as an external docent, having taught at Universidad San Sebastián in 2025 and Haute Ecole 'Léonard de Vinci'​ from September 2020 to August 2024. Previous experience includes roles as an orthoptist in various clinics from 2012 to 2016. Veronica holds a licentiate degree and a bachelor's degree in orthoptics from Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Lisboa, along with a certification from Université du Vin as a sommelier.
