Luiz Sette is a senior partner at Azevedo Sette Advogados, where Luiz has been since July 2010, after returning to Brazil following a 12-year tenure with Microsoft Corporation. At Microsoft, Luiz served as Associate General Counsel and led the Worldwide Commercial Legal team, overseeing legal support for transactions exceeding $58 billion. Additionally, Luiz held the position of Regional General Counsel for Latin America, providing strategic legal counsel to 21 subsidiaries in the region. Luiz's earlier career includes serving as a partner at Azevedo Sette Advogados from December 1989 to December 1998 and a foreign associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Luiz holds an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a J.D. from PUC Minas.
