Rafael Fruhling Umann is the CEO of Azion Technologies. Rafael has a long and successful history in business, starting with their work as an infrastructure engineer at Terra from 2001 to 2004. From there, they went on to become the CEO and co-founder of VP2U, an online marketplace to rent properties and spare rooms to guests. The business model got very popular a few years later with Airbnb. Rafael drove the company strategy and negotiated a solid network of partners and resellers in Brazil, Equador, Colombia, Portugal and Poland, including a few of the largest travel agencies and student magazines. The company had an impressive growth between 2004 and 2006, with thousands of customers and hundreds of properties under management. In 2006, Rafael transitioned to Azion Technologies, where they have served as the CEO for the past 14 years. Under their leadership, Azion Technologies has become one of the leading IT providers in Brazil.

Rafael Fruhling Umann has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, a field in Business Management. Rafael also has an Executive MBA from Columbia Business School in Sales & Marketing Strategies, and a second Executive MBA from Columbia Business School in Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, they have a degree in Computer Science from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul.
