Sophia Hammer is an accomplished journalist and academic with a current role as News Editor and News and Opinions Reporter at the Arizona Daily Wildcat, where extensive coverage of local and national political issues is provided. With experience in radio announcing and hosting for Arizona Public Media, Sophia also contributes as a Mo's Policy Scholar with the Native Nations Institute, focusing on program promotion and infographic creation. Previous work includes a research assistantship with Professor Jennifer Earl, examining youth involvement in social movements, and an internship with the International Rescue Committee, where community gardening initiatives were supported through writing and event organization. Currently pursuing dual Bachelor's degrees in International/Global Studies and Political Science, along with a minor in Spanish at the University of Arizona, Sophia has a strong foundation in social issues and communication.
