Petr Maj

Petr Maj is a Senior Compiler Engineer at Azul since October 2023 and has been a researcher at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Civil Engineering since 2019, focusing on large-scale repository analysis in programming languages such as Java, R, Python, and C++. Previous experience includes serving as a Contingency Worker at Lacework, where design and implementation of a lightweight distributed streaming framework in Rust were key responsibilities, and as CTO and Lead Developer at ReactorLabs, where leadership of a small team helped transition research prototypes to industrial-quality solutions. Additional positions include System Engineer roles at Purdue University and H2O.ai, with significant contributions to static analysis frameworks and distributed big data solutions, and prior experience as a Toolchain Engineer at SN Systems, specializing in compiler development. Petr holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Faculty of Information Technology at CTU in Prague, and has a Master of Engineering degree with honors from the same institution.
