What do we do?
Azure Summit Technology provides a wide range of multi-channel software defined radio solutions for applications including surveillance, emitter location, and interference cancellation. Systems can be tailored to meet a variety of requirements for bandwidth, dynamic range, number of channels, and computational resources. Supported platforms range from resource-constrained small UAVs and wearable devices to manned aircraft and submarines. Azure also offers innovative signal processing solutions to challenging problems in the realm of radio frequency spectrum awareness.
What will you do?
Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking a qualified, energetic and motivated team member to fill the position of Program Control Specialist. The selected candidate will perform critical program planning, monitoring, control, reporting, and documentation tasks to meet contract requirements, fulfill customer needs, and support continued success of our programs. This position is located on-site in Fairfax, Virginia, with occasional overnight travel to Melbourne, Florida, and Baltimore, Maryland.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with program managers as well as an outstanding group of geographically dispersed engineers and technologists. Interaction with customer personnel, and fostering a positive and productive relationship with them, will be required. The successful applicant will become part of a world class team and will support program execution of advanced electronic systems for the DoD and other customers. Current and future projects span advanced concept and prototype development, technology upgrades for complex operational systems, low-rate initial production, and full-rate production. This position will also include responsibilities related to risk management and proposal preparation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Developing detailed program planning documentation, including performance measurement baselines, project schedules, and work breakdown structures consistent with the approach defined by the program manager
- Monitoring and tracking of project progress status, and projections in an earned value framework, including task schedules, schedule critical path, task budgets and estimate at complete
Monitoring and tracking of actual and projected costs and projected billings
Establishing of a methodical approach to tracking deliverable requirements, due dates and actual submission dates of contract deliverables, as well as archival and version control of deliverables
Tracking of material requirements from initiation of purchase requisition through purchase order issuance and receipt of material
- Documenting of project action items and issues
- Supporting cost proposal development
Basic Requirements:
- US citizenship, due to nature of the work and contract requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience applying Earned Value Management to project management and control
Minimum 3 years’ experience using Microsoft Project or similar software for project planning and control
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable
- Experience preparing program planning, monitoring and control, and reporting documents for DoD Programs of Record
- Ability to establish and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with senior managers, technical staff, peers, and customer personnel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, consistent attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience using Deltek CostPoint
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project for project planning, control and monitoring of cost, schedule, and resource requirements
