James Hall began their work experience in 1997 as an Editor for Angler's Choice Magazine at Angler's Choice Inc. James then moved on to become the Editor of Guns&Gear Magazine at B.A.S.S., LLC in 1999. In 2003, they took on the role of Director of Editorial and Editor-In Chief of Bassmaster Magazine, continuing to work for B.A.S.S., LLC.

James Hall obtained their Bachelor's degree in English/Communications from Midwestern State University, from the years 1990 to 1995.
