Lakmal de Silva

Lakmal De Silva is an experienced power plant professional with a comprehensive background in operations and maintenance, particularly within the thermal and hybrid power generation sectors. Currently serving as the Power House Manager for B2Gold Corp. at the Mali Fekola Thermal, PV, and Battery Hybrid Power Plant since May 2017, Lakmal has previously held the roles of Maintenance Manager and Operations Shift Supervisor at the same facility. Prior experience includes positions as Operations Second Engineer at Asia Power (PVT) Ltd in Sri Lanka and Operations and Maintenance Specialist for Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor on various power plant projects in Lebanon and Suriname. Lakmal holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wolverhampton and several engineering qualifications from City & Guilds and CINEC Maritime Campus, underlining a solid educational foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering.
