Victor King

SVP, Exploration at B2Gold

Mr. King has more than 30 years of senior management experience in exploration, development and production in the gold mining industry. He joined B2Gold Corp at the end of 2013 following the acquisition of TSE-listed Volta Resources, where he was Chief Operating Officer from 2006 to 2013. His initial role at B2Gold was Exploration Manager for West Africa, where he continued with the work on Volta’s +5 Moz Kiaka gold project, initiated the exploration effort that led to the Toega discovery and was involved in the acquisition and ongoing exploration management at Fekola until 2017. Most recently, he was Regional Vice President for West Africa, responsible for regional corporate management, government relations, community relations and general administration for Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Senegal.

He has extensive African experience, starting his senior management career in 1992 as the Exploration Manager for Gold Fields in Ghana, where he led the exploration team which resulted in the discovery and development of one of the largest gold mines in Ghana, the world class Tarkwa Mine.

As Regional Exploration Manager for Africa with Gold Fields from 2001 to 2006, he was responsible for generating, managing and advancing exploration projects in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Tanzania, Eritrea and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He graduated in 1987 with a BSc. (Hons) in Geology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
