Established in 1887, the Boston Athletic Association is a non-profit organization with a mission of managing athletic events and promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports, especially running. While its signature event remains the Boston Marathon, the Boston Athletic Association manages a comprehensive, year-round schedule of events including the B.A.A. Half Marathon and the Boston Mayor's Cup.

The Medical Team at the Boston Athletic Association ensures the health and safety of all participants during athletic events, including the Boston Marathon. They coordinate medical volunteers, oversee the setup and operation of medical tents, respond to emergencies, and provide medical care on race days to support the well-being of athletes.
